Ray Payne

Ray is an attorney and successful corporate real estate professional with a deep and diverse background in the drug store and supermarket industries.

As Vice President Real Estate for the U.S. at Rite Aid Corporation, Ray was in charge of real estate for all stores, office and, distribution centers. His responsibilities included new store development, governmental approvals, environmental issues, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, lease restructuring, surplus portfolio, dispositions, and sale leasebacks.

Ray is skilled at strategic planning, in depth financial analysis, with extensive experience with large scale dispositions, major office and distribution center projects, entitlements and budgeting. During his tenure at Rite Aid, Ray successfully managed a portfolio of thousands of stores.

Ray graduated from the University of San Diego with a Juris Doctorate Degree. He also has a B.A. in history from San Diego State University. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the California Bar Association.
